Results from the British Bottlers’ Institute Competition 2021 have seen Harvey’s win two 1st Prize Gold Medals in their respective classes.
Lewes Castle Brown Ale (4.8% abv) was judged Winner of the Stout, Porter or Dark Ale Class (4.0 – 5.4 % abv).
Elizabethan Ale (7.5%) was winner in the Ales (7.5% and above) Class.
A fresh bottling of Lewes Castle Brown Ale has taken place this week at the brewery to meet demand. Elizabethan Ale is also back in stock and a new format is currently being explored to coincide with the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations next year.
Head brewer Miles Jenner commented:
“We did not enter any competitions in 2020, so it is good to be back in the frame. After a year of uncertainty and cut backs, it is just the sort of encouragement that we could all do with. The entire team is delighted. While these two products are very traditional beers, new projects are planned that will see us brewing some very different new styles in the forthcoming months.”
