Remembering Ken Saunders

We were greatly saddened to hear of the recent death of Ken Saunders, Harvey's former Managing Director, who died peacefully last week aged 94. Our thoughts are with his wife Joan, daughter Adele and Grandchildren Charlotte and Lewes.

Although originating from rural Scotland, Ken married Joan (John Harvey’s descendent) and became responsible for the company’s tenanted pubs for over quarter of a century since joining the firm in 1972.

Ken oversaw the expansion of the Harvey estate including our first pubs in towns such as Hastings, Haywards Heath, Shoreham-on-Sea, and Newhaven.  Also a very keen gardener, Ken had remained interested in Harvey's activities since his retirement at the Millennium.
