Harvey's are thrilled to have two beers featured in the World's Greatest Beers book, a definitive guide to the 250 best beers in the world today.
Compiled by eight award-winning authors, the book is the most comprehensive guide to the best beers today from Pilsen to Portland.
Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter was part of Jonny Garrett's selection, and Emma Inch featured Harvey's Imperial Double Extra Stout.
Jonny Garrett, current British Guild Beer Writer of the Year, said:
" When Covid closed Britain's pubs, cask brewers all over the country were staring down the barrel of financial ruin. But Miles Jenner, Head Brewer of Harvey's, wasn't sure whether hanging on would be enough....His house yeast has to be used regularly to survive. The Harvey's yeast enjoys an almost mythical status in the world of brewers such is its unmistakable character...We're very, very lucky that the yeast that brings it all together survived."
Harvey's Head Brewer Miles Jenner said:
" It was both unexpected and reassuring to have two totally different styles of Harvey’s beer cited amongst the World’s Greatest. They are at opposite ends of the flavour spectrum and we have always aimed to brew a range that contains something for all. We are delighted that Emma and Jonny saw fit to include us in their choices."
World's Greatest Beers is available now from the CAMRA shop.
