Farewell Mike!

Mike Glen applied for a placement at Harvey’s in 2019, while working in Vancouver. A joint Australian and Irish citizen, he had brewed in micro-breweries in Melbourne, Australia, and Vancouver, Canada – where he was currently resident.

Having already taken his IBD General Certificate in Brewing, he was anxious to undertake the Diploma qualification and hoped to do so while ‘immersed with an exceptional, traditional British brewery’ – he certainly got his wish, immersed as part of a very small brewing team throughout lockdown and applying himself to whatever challenges came his way while, at the same time, studying and gaining his qualifications.

Founded in 2014, this relatively new company expanded to a larger site in 2017 and has met with great acclaim, producing some very innovative new beers.
