The building was built in 1504 and was named as an inn from records dating back to 1788. The 18th and 19th century exterior covers the older timber frame beneath. This is a long, one bar pub with dark, thick wooden beams.
It has gaming machines and TV's. The pub dips down to the right and to the restaurant area. The wonderful garden was once described as "one of the most attractive beer gardens in the South of England".
