The Inn known as the "Cock" was built during the reign of Charles 11 (1660 -1685) in the year 1670. The origin of the ancient sign the "Cock" dates back to the reign of Richard 1 (1189 - 1199) and refers to the days of chivalry when his knights made their vows at a tournament banquet, before a peacock served up in all its magnificent plumage
The Inn has seen many changes since it was built, but still retains its original charm & character.
Good value food, an excellent pint of best and a friendly welcome awaits you.
