Robin's Recipes: Oxtail & Porter Casserole

Rich, hearty, and full of deep, malty flavors, this Oxtail and Harvey’s Porter Casserole is the perfect comfort dish for slow cooking. The robust notes of our Porter complement the tender, slow-braised oxtail, creating a rich and velvety sauce packed with depth and warmth.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Chunks of Oxtail (3-4cm)
  • 1 Large Onion (Chopped)
  • 2 Leeks (Chopped)
  • 4 Cloves of Garlic (Chopped)
  • 4 Bay Leaves
  • 1 Tin of Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1/2 Pint (285ml) Beef Stock
  • 1/2 Pint ( 285ml) Harvey’s Porter

     

Method:

  1. Roast the Oxtail and Onion in an oven dish for 20-30 Minutes or until browned at Gas Mark 6 or 200°C Electric.
  2. Place the ingredients in a casserole dish and cook for 6-8 hours at Gas Mark 3 or 165°C Electric.
  3. De-bone the Oxtail if required and serve with mash & green vegetables.
